Tips For Successfully Ridding Your Skin Of Acne

By Steve Brian

Some people are embarrassed about their acne, but don't understand how to control it. In some cases, a dermatologist is needed, but many people can learn how to handle acne on their own. The tips provided here will give you guidance on how to take care of your acne problem.

To prevent skincare products from becoming counterproductive, introduce one acne fighting product at a time, even if you bought all your products in one kit. It takes your skin time to adjust to new products, especially ones that contain abrasives, so start your new acne-fighting regimen by applying only the cleanser and gradually work in other products.

Do not share makeup brushes with others. Even though acne is not contagious, if you allow someone else to use your brushes, the bacteria from their skin will be transferred onto your brushes and could cause further acne outbreaks on your acne-prone skin.

If you are taking antibiotics for your acne, be sure to take a quality probiotic as well. Antibiotics kill the natural bacteria that live in the digestive system, leading to poor digestion and other complications. Probiotics will replace these lost bacteria and prevent your body from suffering from a lack of necessary bacteria.

An important tip to consider when concerning acne is that once it starts to heal and enters the pimple stage, you need to keep a close eye on it. This is important because if treated incorrectly, this pimple may turn into a painful cyst that digs deep into your skin.

Avoid using oil based products on your skin. While the products may profess great beauty benefits, they can clog your pores and directly cause acne breakouts. Many products available in a pharmacy can be oil-based, including shampoos, conditioners, makeup and facial cleansers, so be sure to read the label before purchasing.

Cortisol is released into your system when you are under stress. It is one of the big causes for an acne breakout. If you can find a way to reduce or eliminate stress you will find that you will not suffer from quite as many breakouts. Cortisol clogs pores and causes the breakouts.

If you have had a lot of sun exposure it may have also contributed to your acne. Beams of light from the sun contain what are called free radicals, and these free radicals can be incredibly damaging to your skin. If you still want to get your sun in, try using an SPF 30 sunscreen.

To start a basic anti-acne regiment for your face, wash it. Just get a washcloth and lather it up with soap and rub your face in it everyday. A lot of people shower and bathe everyday without actually washing their face. It's an unconscious decision to avoid getting soap in their eyes, but it leaves their face one of the dirtiest parts of their body.

Reducing your sugar intake is a great way to decrease the number of breakouts that you have. Sugar makes your body produce more insulin, which produces more hormones, which produces more oil, which produces more bacteria, which in the end, produces more acne. You should also be reducing the number of carbohydrates that you consume, as well.

Rose water mixed with sandalwood paste is an effective treatment for acne breakouts. The natural ingredients in these products help to reduce excess oil on the skin and reduce the acne breakouts. To use this method properly, apply it to the face and leave it there for 30 minutes before washing it off.

A great way to help with acne problems is to use a different towel daily. The bacteria from one day of use can actually stay dormant on that towel and transfer back onto your skin the following day. You always want to start with a fresh clean towel after you wash your face.

As mentioned before, acne can be an embarrassing problem for alot of people. Many people give up treating it and feel like they just have to live with it or go to a dermatologist. By using the tips provided above, you will learn how to rid yourself of problem acne forever.
