Stop Acne In It's Track With These Tips

Acne isn't just a condition that plagues teenagers. Some people can have acne all their lives. If you thought a pimple was embarrassing when you were 16, try dealing with one when you're 46! You can feel like an outcast your entire life unless you deal with it. Deal with the problem of acne with the help of these tips.

When it comes to acne, you are the best person in the world to know how your skin behaves. If your skin feels like it is getting oily, you should wash it immediately. If you feel it is becoming too dry, grab a moisturizer and massage gently on your face.

A great tip that can help prevent you from getting acne is to make sure you wash your face before you go to bed. By washing your face before you go to bed, you'll ensure that you aren't getting any dirt on your pillowcase, which is a big catalyst for acne.

If you are interested in having clear skin, consider watching your consumption of dairy and animal products. Many vegans have spectacularly clear skin, seeming to glow from within. Others who struggle with acne have found success when they refrain from dairy. So try cutting back on the dairy, eggs, and meat, and see if your skin doesn't improve.

Try using lemon juice on skin that is oily and has pores that are enlarged, as well as has pimples. Apply the lemon juice to the area of the skin that has excess oil or enlarged pores. Be sure to only use this method once or twice a week because overuse can lead to dry skin.

If you are prone to acne in places other than the face, be sure to wear clothing that is not constrictive. Too tight sizes or synthetic fabrics can aggravate acne flareups. It is better to opt for natural fibers such as cotton. This is especially helpful if you work out: avoid spandex and opt for cotton workout clothes.

Using concealer on pimples can be a catch-22, actually worsening the problem and causing more of it. Save concealer for special occasions only and not everyday use. Acne will clear up faster with open air and normal cleansing and most likely be aggravated by any cover-up. What caused the pimple in the first place was probably clogged pores and the last thing you want to do is plug them up further.

The fact that acne can follow you around your entire life can really put a damper on things. Most teens think they'll naturally grow out of it, only to find that pimples continue to pop up time and again.
